As a generic guideline also we have to identify to which extent we can add new terms in agrovoc.

As a generic rule we can think that if the new term refers to a generic concept in agriculture (e.g. that may apply to more than one single crop, or more than one product) than can be added to agrovoc, otherwise it would not belong to agrovoc but to a more specific knowledge organization system, such as a specific domain ontology.

Example: Ecosystems is in Agrovoc, but we would not create "Rice ecosystem", because we may then add many more other specific ecosystems.

For non-descriptors of existing terms, those can be added without any problem.
